Since 2012, Ajyal crews have moved the Kingdom’s onshore rigs between pads for government bodies and large contractors, with a rig-move team carrying more than twenty years of experience in the field.

02 — The Method
Five phases. One plan.
Every move runs the same disciplined sequence — because a rig move that improvises is a rig move that stops.

Survey & route study
No load turns a wheel until the route is known. The departure site, the destination pad and every kilometre between them are surveyed — ground conditions, gradients, clearances and crossings — and the findings become the move plan: lift sequence, trailer allocation, convoy order. Permits and escorts are arranged before mobilisation, not after.

Rig-down
The rig comes apart in a planned order, not an improvised one. Trained rig-move crews dismantle to the sequence set at survey, with every load defined before a crane takes the strain. The mast travels on a mast dolly — a unit built for exactly that job.

Load-out
Every load is matched to the right trailer, the right crane and a lifting plan. Extended lowbeds run three to seven axles for loads up to 120 tonnes; flatbeds with side cage carry the rest. Nothing leaves the pad unsecured.

Convoy under journey management
The convoy rolls under journey management — escorted, tracked and sequenced from pad to pad. Dispatch monitors the move around the clock, because rigs move at night as well as by day.

Rig-up
On the new pad, the sequence runs in reverse: positioned, re-erected and aligned by the same crews who took the rig down. The move ends the only way that counts — the rig handed back ready to drill.

Safety First, Every Move Matters!
Safety as per Saudi Aramco standards is the benchmark on every move — applied to planning, lifting, convoy and rig-up alike. A dedicated HSE Committee oversees policy, training and incident review, and every crew member holds Stop Work Authority: the authority to stop any job, at any time, on safety grounds — no questions asked.
